Kitchen Renovation Project Knutsford

The kitchen renovation project in Knutsford was undertaken by the Kitchenality team with enthusiasm. Geoff and Debbie chose Kitchenality after considering several other kitchen companies. They were confident in the professionalism Kitchenality offered. In addition, they felt that German kitchens had the reputation of good quality and longevity.

Project Management

Geoff and Debbie hoped to create a more open-plan space for contemporary living. Their dream was to rejuvenate the whole area. The Kitchenality team oversaw the renovation from beginning to end.  This included the rip-out of the old kitchen, the plastering, electrics and furniture installation. All work was carried out to a tight schedule and completed trouble-free.

The Brief

The clients wanted a new look with space that connected to the dining room.  They felt that the conventional U-shaped kitchen had had its’ day. They wanted the new kitchen to be modern with an airy feel and a sense of space. Debbie hoped for additional work-surface too because she wanted a practical area for baking with the grandchildren. Shelves were required for cookery books to ensure they were to hand.

The fridge freezer and ovens from the old kitchen were reused.  There was no need to buy new appliances as they were perfectly functional.

Style

Tracy, Design Consultant suggested a mix of textured laminate and gloss lacquer for the cabinets. This was because contemporary design incorporates two tones in the furniture finishes. In order to keep on trend, light and dark contrasts were used. A corian work-surface was built into the windowsill as this kept the scheme seamless and smooth. Also it added softness and warmth. In order to add contrast and additional texture the shelves and breakfast bar were made from an oak-look laminate. Finally, a grey tinted mirror was installed for a touch of depth and glamour.

The Result

As a result of the careful planning and design, the kitchen renovation was a great success. It created a room with improved flow and communication.  The dining room was brought more into focus creating one continuous space. It was better for socialising and baking. Additionally, Rempp’s German high-quality manufacturing meant the kitchen was both stylish and practical. Geoff and Debbie were delighted with the result.
