New Kitchen – Macclesfield Case Study

A new kitchen was the priority for John and Shobana when embarking on their house renovation. They visited several kitchen companies in the local area of Macclesfield before making a decision. After speaking to the Kitchenality team the couple decided that Kitchenality offered the best value for money and service. They had complete confidence that all expectations would not only be met, but exceeded. That has proved to be the case and John and Shobana are delighted with the result.

The Brief

The out-dated kitchen was to be ripped out and a new space created. Shobana is an amazing cook and loves to spend time creating delicious cuisine. Therefore, it was important to have maximum work surface. At the same time all units were to be kept at low level to accommodate for Shobana’s height of 5’2”.

The clients wanted a contemporary kitchen with clean lines and some special features to add pizzazz. In addition, it was important to keep the full-length window free from obstruction in order to benefit from the stunning view of Macclesfield Forest. Shobana said that she found it very therapeutic to gaze at the Japanese Larch and Sitka Spruce whilst stirring a sauce or waiting for a sponge cake to be perfectly risen.

Tracy, head designer at Kitchenality, took all considerations into account and designed a galley kitchen that opened into the dining area. The full-length window was unhindered.  On the opposite side of the kitchen full length units were installed for storage. The plan did not contain wall cupboards.  Instead, base cupboards and drawers were used for accessibility. They contained cutlery inserts and accessories for easy storage of equipment.

The colour scheme was grey and white to keep the kitchen cool and contemporary. Black and copper pendants over the peninsular added a touch of glamour and warmth.

The Result

John and Shobana are delighted with their new kitchen. Every detail has been thought through with great care and because of this, they love being in the space and using it to entertain their guests.
