The Kitchen Island Design
Kitchenality discuss the kitchen island and design trends for 2019. Kitchenality are kitchen specialists within Arighi Bianchi in Macclesfield.
The kitchen island is the icon of modern kitchens today. It is the current fashion to extend homes or create one large room from two small ones. If you want to create more work space or divide the working zone from the living and dining areas, consider the kitchen island because it is often the perfect solution. Alternatively, it can be a show-stopping piece with contrasting colours and textures to give an inherent uniqueness. Here are some kitchen island design trends to consider for your next kitchen…
Kitchenality recommend at least 1m x 2m for the island itself and suggest 1.2m of space between it and the surrounding cabinetry. Advantages of this plan are, for instance, freedom of space to work in the kitchen and not cause obstruction when using appliances.
The Long Island
The extra long island, however, is the most popular trend for 2019. It replaces the traditional table and chairs as a centre piece with wow factor! The island can be multi-functional and incorporate appliances such as a hob, wine cooler or sink. It is possible also to integrate a seating area for convenience. For instance, this could be a simple overhang of 45cm to create a breakfast bar for casual dining. Another possibility is for the island to include a more luxurious seating/eating area. Sometimes eating areas are designed at a different level because this adds interest and dimension to the space.
Come in and discuss all needs, whatever they are – for example, bookshelves, pan drawers, or pop-up sockets. Everything can be discussed at the planning stage and designed into the island. As a result all specific requirements will be met and integrated with richness and personality.

There is a corian work-surface, Lami Compact furniture and Lund L-shaped breakfast bar. The combination is a great example of how to blend colour, textures and to be on trend.
